About us...

Purpose:  Our vision statement is:  “To provide young adults opportunities in creating and fostering professional and social relationships with members of the business community and to utilize its members’ talents to provide service to the community.”  We also plan to provide community service in the form of increasing public awareness through forums.  This organization plans to sponsor forums the public will be invited to attend and will feature speakers on issues that affect our community and possibly your profession.  A mentoring program for high school and college students is also being planned.

Membership:  Before an individual can be considered for membership, two members must sponsor him or her.  The prospective member must be between the ages of 18 and 40, and in good standing with the community.  The Board of Directors then considers the applicants based on leadership skills, community service, and excellence in their profession and offers only those individuals that have exemplified themselves with the qualities mentioned above, membership into this organization.  Once a member is admitted, he or she may remain with the organization indefinitely, regardless whether he or she has surpassed the maximum age requirement for new members.

Meetings:  The MYBR holds a general meeting every two months.  Members are encouraged to attend general meetings.  The meetings usually run for one hour where club business is addressed.  During months in which a general meeting is not scheduled, business socials will be held and attendance will be voluntary.  Business socials are informal gatherings, aimed at allowing MYBR members to interact with each other in an informal setting.
